Candle Care 🎔

Each candle we make at Love & Destiny is hand-poured with as much care as possible with every effort made to maintain quality and consistency. From time to time there may be a slight flaw in appearance due to our use of 100% Natural Soy Wax, Never fear, this does not affect the burn in any way.

For candles with crystals you can remove them prior to burn, however if you choose to keep them in, keep an eye out to ensure they do not fall near the lit wick, as this can cause an uneven burn pool and distinguish the wick, which we do not want. We personally like to remove the crystals to keep close.

To ensure you receive the most out of your burn time, you'll need to give your candle a little extra love and care by following the instructions below:

When burning your candle for the first time, allow the wax to melt until it reaches the edges of your vessel before extinguishing. This will create a candle memory and a clean and even pool for future burns.

Keep out of reach of children, and pets!

Never leave your candle burning longer than 3 hours at a time. Once the wax reaches half way down your vessel, carefully monitor the burn time and extinguish the flame after 1 hour.  You can do this using a Candle Snuffer, or simply by gently pushing the wick down into the melted wax. Never blow out a candle. We prefer to gently push the wick down as this helps reduce the smoke and soot.

Discontinue use when the wax reaches 1-1.5cm from the bottom of your vessel. This will stop any soot from forming around your vessel. Ensure any Maxi Tealight candles are disposed of when the wax reaches the bottom as the plastic can melt.

After use when the wax has cooled and re set, trim your wick to 5mm again before relighting to avoid 'mushrooming' of the wick, and increase maximum burn time. You can do this using a wick trimmer, or gently with a pair of scissors.

When finished burning your candle, pour in hot water to allow the wax residue to rise to the top, and then with a gentle bath using warm water & soap give it a rinse to use as a keepsake, or to re-use however you wish
